According to several reports, including the players official social media page, former Borussia Dortmund defender Emmanuel Mbende has signed for Birmingham City.

There has yet to be any concrete confirmation from the club itself but a deal looks like it may have already happened.

Mbende, who is 19 years old and stands at a massive 6ft 5, has been on trial with Blues for around a month now. In his first game for the Under 21s, he received a red card for two bookable offences.

Blues have been struggling to keep a clean sheet lately so the arrival of the teenager wouldn’t be a surprise to many fans.

The defender wrote on his official Facebook page ‘Thank you to Borussia Dortmund for seven great years. Now I am very pleased to see my first professional contract at Birmingham City FC signed.’

He continued ‘I am really happy to have signed my first pro contract with Birmingham City FC.’

The post was accompanied by three photos. One of him playing for Dortmund, one of him next to the trophy cabinet at the Blues and one of him signing a contract.

Blues fans, what do you make of this news? Do you think Emmanuel Mbende will be a player for the first team? Or do you think he will be one for the development squad? Let us know in the comment section down below!
