According to Richard Crawley of the South London Press online, former Birmingham City striker Lee Novak is subject of major interest from recently relegated side Charlton Athletic.

The 27-year-old made just one appearance for Blues last season against Bristol Rovers in the Capital One Cup second round and with that being his last game in a royal blue shirt, he looks set to be playing in red next season.

The Addicks appointed former Cardiff City boss Russell Slade last week and the new manager is looking to make his first signing since his arrival at the Valley and Novak looks like he could be the man.

Last season, Novak made 38 appearances whilst on loan at League One side Chesterfield and during his time with the club, he found the back of the net 15 times, including an impressive hattrick against Shrewsbury Town in a 7-1 demolition.

In May, it was revealed that Blues wouldn’t be offering Novak a new deal and with Charlton’s initial transfer target Alex Revell looking increasingly like he is going to join Sheffield United, they have now turned their attentions to another proven League One striker and the deal could go through in the next 10 days.

Blues fans, are you happy to see Lee Novak find a club so quickly after his release? Do you think we should have kept hold of him? Let us know in the comment section down below!
