Former Birmingham forward DJ Campbell has been arrested amidst an investigation into match fixing. The National Crime Agency has arrested and detained six people and DJ Campbell is one of them.

Blackburn Rovers have made a statement confirming Campbell’s arrest but declined to comment further.

The investigation began after a Telegraph sting operation into match fixing. The evidence was then handed over to the police, who have since made arrests.

The NCA are following up on claims that players linked to this fixing group have been getting themselves booked in return for cash. There has even been mention of players getting themselves sent off.

Four men, two of which are non-league players, are due to appear in court this week. Sam Sodje, formerly of Portsmouth, has been secretly caught on film by The Sun discussing how he can influence games. He appears to guarantee bookings 100&.

He claimed to organise a Championship fix that saw one player net £30,000.
