If Birmingham City think they may have an easy time scoring goals against a porous Nottingham Forest defence, they had better forget it because goalkeeper Karl Darlow is on the case.

Forest have let in nine goals in the last three games which would certainly give Blues big hopes for the game on Saturday, but Darlow says that the Forest defence needs to and will tighten up to stop the flow off goals in their against column.

Darlow said to Forest Player: “We are leaking goals at the moment which isn’t nice, especially for me. We know what Birmingham are about and we know they have an attack which can cause us problems. But we definitely need to tighten up at the back.’

The keeper goes on to say that he feels that if they can put in a good performance against Blues and grab the three points then they can finish the season on a high using the Blues game as a launch pad for the final few games.

Darlow and the rest of the Forest squad know that just because Birmingham are only three points above the relegation zone, they won’t cause them problems even though the last time Forest won was in February some 14 games ago.

He added: “It will be tough because they are fighting for their livelihoods. They`ll be scrapping to avoid relegation but I`m pretty confident that if we perform to the best of our ability then we`ll beat them.”
