The Football League are investigating Birmingham City after claims surfaced from the parent company of the club Birmingham International Holdings Limited.

Yeung has called an EGM in order to force through three new directors onto the board of the parent company. Obviously he is trying to push the company in a different direction from his prison cell.

It has became apparent that interested parties within the parent club have not been playing by Yeung’s script in recent years. We got a first hand account of this when Pannu blew his top and was subsequently sacked.

Then he was back, curtsy of Carson Yeung’s AGM votes. Well now the calling of a EGM may be just what the League need to prove Yeung is wielding influence as a shadow director.

BIHL even released a statement expressing their own concern as to Mr Yeung’s actions to the Hong Kong Stock exchange.

Here is the Football League statement:

We have been in ongoing dialogue with the club in recent months with regard to changes in the shareholding of Birmingham International Holdings Limited (BIHL). Further to that, we have now become aware of the announcement made yesterday by BIHL to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

‘As a result, the Football League has written to Birmingham City today to ask for clarification as to whether this statement demonstrates that Carson Yeung should be defined as a ‘relevant person’ under the Owners and Directors’ Test while being subject to a disqualifying condition.’

It would seem there are people within BIHL who want to resist Yeung and Pannu, is that positive for the club? I don’t know. If they are successful I would think that Birmingham City will be owned by BIHL for some time to come.

If Yeung manages to somehow get the sale he craves then he must win this board room battle first, which is becoming pretty public. Something we have never seen before.
