Five-a-side: Best of both! AFC Bournemouth

Lets get one thing straight from the word go here…this game isn’t going to be like it was 15 months ago!

I am thoroughly expecting Blues to give this game a right good go but it doesn’t mean that we are by any means going to walk through.

Bournemouth are a very very good side and choosing this weeks five-a-side team has been a very difficult one for me because there is such a lot of talent on show.

Not only is there a lot of talent on show but there are also likely to be several changes made to each side so picking who I wanted to be in my team this week has been a slightly challenging affair.

We all know what happened the last time Eddie Howe’s team were in town and we are all very hopeful that the same thing doesn’t happen again and personally I feel we will give a very good account of ourselves and you never know, we might walk away with a result.

After all, things in the FA Cup never go to plan and if we play our cards right we could be looking at a nice little cup run, although that is something that I personally wouldn’t be interested in.

Below is the side that I have chosen for this weekend’s clash based on who I think will be in the teams.

GK: Adam Federici.

It was a tough one choosing the goalkeeper for this game because both sides are likely to change their number ones I believe.

I could have chosen Adam Legzdins but unfortunately for him I just think Federici is a better all round keeper.

On his day, the Australian shot stopper is a very good keeper and Cherries fans will be hoping that he has an on day rather than an off day as he usually does in goal.

DF: Jonathan Grounds.

Again this was a very tough one for me to choose but in recent weeks the former Middlesbrough left back has picked up his game.

In Saturday’s 2-1 win over Brentford he had a very solid game and I think he enjoys playing against higher opposition if I am being completely honest.

Grounds also quite likes this competition, with the Englishman having scored in last seasons 2-1 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion and I have a feeling he could be someone who might pop up with a surprise or two on the day.

MF: Harry Arter and Jacques Maghoma.

For starters, Arter is a fantastic professional and someone who I really do admire! To go out and play on a Saturday after losing a child earlier that week shows just how much this game means to him.

He has incredible ability despite only making 11 appearances in all competitions for Howe’s team this season and I think he could be a real thorn in Blues’ play on Saturday and for that reason he really needed to be in my team.

Like Arter, Maghoma has begun to show his really quality and worth to his team. The former Sheffield Wednesday man has popped up with two very well taken goals in the last two home games and his ability is starting to shine.

Blues boss Rowett brought Maghoma in to do exactly what he has started to do and I would love to see it continue on Saturday.

Following the departure of Demarai Gray, Maghoma has really stepped up to the plate and it is fantastic to see him enjoying his football.

ST: Josh King.

I have decided to go against what I usually do in this series and I have picked three players from the visiting side.

King is a very good striker and someone who is used to playing Championship level football so I think he could really hurt us this weekend if he gets into the right positions.

My only worry (for the sake of the article) is that he might be an injury doubt heading into the game, but that could benefit Blues.

Although he isn’t a massive goal threat having only scored two goals in 20 games so far this season, he does bring others into play and that is something that could be very damaging as we all know what having a striker like that can do for a team because Clayton Donaldson does it so well!

Blues and Bournemouth fans, what do you think of this weeks five-a-side team? Do you agree with the side that has been selected? Who would be in your team? Let us know in the comment section down below!
