Five-a-side: Best of both!

Another week, another new five-a-side team! This time, I am including the visitors to St.Andrews, Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers have lost five of their last six games in the league games, but have still got some players that have above average performances week in, week out.

Huddersfield, who currently sit in the bottom three with 15 points, are looking for only their second away win of the season, their only other win was against Charlton Athletic back in September.

Blues have been struggling at home in recent weeks, but like Town, they have some stand out players each week.

Having looked into both sides performances so far this season, I have picked out what I think is the best possible five-a-side team.

Below is the team that I have picked, which includes the usual goalkeeper, defender, two midfielders and one attacker.

GK: Tomasz Kuszczak.

I found it hard to leave the Polish keeper out of the team this week for the simple fact that he has kept far more clean sheets that Huddersfield’s Joe Murphy.

Despite not appearing in the last fixture against Middlesbrough, Murphy has played in the majority of Town’s games and I expect him to return to their starting line up on Saturday.

DF: Jonathan Grounds.

Most fans might disagree with this inclusion but in actual fact, Grounds is probably one of the most consistent performers in the Blues team.

Chipping in with a goal here and there, the former Oldham Athletic defender can play in pretty much any position across the back four, which means he fits in nicely with this formation.

MF: Emyr Huws and Demarai Gray.

Former Birmingham City loan star Huws returns to St.Andrews this weekend in fairly decent form.

The midfielder is currently joint top goal scorer in the Huddersfield squad with four goals to his name and the Blues faithful will be hoping that his wonder of a left foot doesn’t come back to haunt them this weekend.

For me, Huws was one of those players that got away from us! He was by far one of our best loan recruitments when Lee Clark was in charge.

Alongside Huws is our very own Gray. Despite only scoring one goal so far this season, Gray consistently puts in some good attacking performances.

In contrast to his attacking side, he has also improved his defensive side which is something that is doing him the world of good at the moment and is sure to be adding to his value.

ST: Nahki Wells.

The pacey goal poacher is someone that Blues will be very wary of heading into the weekends fixture.

Like Huws, Wells has four goals to his name so far this season, and considering that they haven’t created the most chances in the league, four goals is a fairly good return.

A natural goal scorer is always going to pose a threat even if they aren’t always busy in the game. For me, he could be somebody that might cause us a problem!

Blues fans, what do you make of this weeks ‘Five-a-side: Best of both’ team? Are the players that have been picked the correct ones? Would you change any of them? Let us know in the comment section down below!
