Welcome back to another instalment of Five-a-side: Best of both!

This week I will be looking at players from both our Birmingham City and their opponents this week, Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Seagulls present possibly one of the toughest challenges in the league so far this season, behind Hull City and Derby County, with the seaside club currently unbeaten in all of their 17 league games, winning nine and drawing eight.

Having looked extensively at all the stats on offer via the BBC, I have compiled my five-a-side team into something which would be strong in any week day league.

Below are the players that I have selected for this week, along with a small line on why they are in my side!

GK: David Stockdale

The 30 year old is currently enjoying his best spell at any of his previous clubs.

During the games that he has played this season in the Championship, Stockdale has kept six clean sheets, two more than Blues shot stopper Tomasz Kuszczak and that is why he is in my team.

CB: Jonathan Spector

I wanted to switch it up from last weeks selection because the USA international has actually enjoyed a fairly balanced start to the season with Blues.

Spector has played in 12 games so far this season in the league, with Gary Rowett’s men winning four, drawing four and losing four whilst he has been in the side.

For me, Spector is a well adapted Championship player and he deserves to be in my side.

MF: Solomon March

The England under 21 player has bagged himself two goals so far this season, one of them coming in Albion’s last home victory against MK Dons.

Constantly bringing Brighton forward, I think March will be a player that Blues will struggle to handle on Saturday and that is why he just needed to be in my five-a-side team!

MF: Jacques Maghoma

Including Maghoma in this weeks five was quite easy if I am honest for the simple fact that he is fantastic when Blues play away from home.

He was a shining light when we demolished Fulham before the international break, setting up two of the five goals and he just seems to have more swagger about him when we are on our travels.

So far this season, the Congo man has scored three goals in all competitions and I am hoping that he can continue his form into Saturday’s game.

ST: Bobby Zamora

There was only really ever going to be one striker involved in this team and that is Zamora!

After scoring the winner in the Championship play-off final two seasons ago for Queens Park Rangers, Zamora moved back to the club he joined in 2000 and he has produced some moments of magic for them.

Scoring three goals in the last seven games is a good return for him. Blues need to be wary of Zamora as two of his three goals have come in the last three minutes of normal time and one came after just 57 seconds at Burnley last weekend.

Blues and Brighton fans, what to you think of my five-a-side team this week? Would you change anybody who I have put in? If yes, who would you change? Let us know in the comment section down below!
