Birmingham’s Roger Johnson has escaped a ban after blowing up at Aston Villa referee Martin Atkinson following the derby game.

Johnson lost his temper after a penalty was awarded to Villa after the defender made a perfectly fair tackle on Gabriela Agbonlahor, or whatever her name is.

Johnson said after the game: ‘The referee was a disgrace. He’s ruined the match and clearly shouldn’t be doing these kind of games – it was too big for him.’

The 27 year old did however pick up a warning about his future conduct and a fine of £7,500.
