As I said the other day, there seems to be a bit of a trend developing amongst the signings at St Andrew’s.
If any more Spaniards come through the door, we may have to rename the ground to San Andreas, and as someone who played the game as a kid, I wouldn’t be complaining. It would certainly sound a lot better than Trillion Trophy at the very least.
The latest signing by Pep Clotet is Alvaro Gimenez, a Spanish forward who comes to the club from UD Almeria. Yes, you read that right, he’s a forward. Hopefully this doesn’t change the negotiations to try and sign George Puscas.
In fact, Puscas was on a lot of Blues fans minds when the signing was announced. With reports that the Romanian is on his way to Reading instead of Birmingham, there was some concern as to whether or not this was the only forward they were likely to be bringing in during the last few days of the transfer window.
Puscas?

No, definitely not. If anything, I’m slightly embarrassed we’ve been gazumped by a poxy Club like Reading (if true) #BCFC #KRO

Finally a new forward! Hopefully we can sign Puscas too and I would also keep Vassell as well. Better to have more options up front than just two recognised forwards! #KRO

Others though, took the signing at face value and were more concerned with welcoming their new striker to the club. Saluting the board for getting another astute signing over the line.
