Birmingham have been given a boost ahead of this weekend`s clash with Wigan after receiving the news that midfielder Barry Ferguson will be fit for the game.

The 32 year old had to come off towards the end of the defeat to Fulham at the weekend after taking a knock to the ankle.

But Blues manager Alex McLeish has eased worries by confirming that Ferguson will be in the squad.

He told the club’s official website: ‘Barry came off because of an ankle problem, but he’s all right now.

‘He’ll be OK for the Wigan game on Saturday.’
