Ahead of Tuesday nights clash between Blues and Wigan, Rob Wildey caught up with Wigan fan Gemma Grey.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GARY CALDWELL?

At first, I thought it was an uninspired choice and the cheap option. But then I have to admit I`m wrong. Promotion from League One was always going to be difficult. But Caldwell managed to steer us back to the Championship by playing good football.

WHAT WOULD MARK A GOOD SEASON FOR WIGAN?

To be honest, in pre-season, I would have said survival. That always has to be the first aim for any promoted side. But seeing how we have started the season, I believe we can be safely tucked away in mid-table. We were unlucky to lose at Bristol City but bounced back with an emphatic win against Blackburn Rovers. I`m predicting we will finish 12th.

WHAT SHOULD BIRMINGHAM EXPECT FROM WIGAN?

An organised side with attacking intent. With Will Grigg up front, we will always have a chance against anyone. I just hope our midfield can remain strong against supposedly better sides.

WHICH WIGAN PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

Max Power has been performing well. When we signed him from Tranmere, I thought we had signed a magazine! Our danger man is Grigg, though. He is a goal machine. His 28 goals last season prove that. Nick Powell can be lively, too.

IF YOU HAD TO SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE WIGAN SQUAD, WHO WOULD IT BE?

I like the look of Jacques Maghoma. I watched Birmingham a couple of times last season and he stood out. He`s big, strong and quick.

RUGBY IS THE MOST POPULAR SPORT IN WIGAN BUT HOW MUCH DOES FOOTBALL MEAN TO THE LOCALS?
To the Wigan fans, football means everything. There may not be that many of us but we support the team through thick and thin. Obviously, Rugby is massive in Wigan but I can`t be doing with it. Football is the best sport in the world.

WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE FOR PROMORTION THIS SEASON AND WHY?

It`s hard to call. My early thoughts say Norwich or Sheffield Wednesday but anyone could be up there with a consistent run of wins. Newcastle and Villa will find it difficult. Brighton look very, very good.

WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

I think we`ll get a point apiece. A high scoring 2-2.
