Ahead of tonight’s clash at Hillsborough, Co-editor Rob Wildey speaks to Russell Myers, a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF CARLOS CARVALHAL?

He’s a top manager. He’s rebuilt the squad since he took over in June 2015 and we look a good Championship side. He will, be it this season or next, get us up. But my only fear is that a top flight club, here or abroad, come calling for his services.

WHAT WOULD REPRESENT A GOOD SEASON FOR WEDNESDAY?

Nothing less than a play-off place. We’re more than capable of holding on to our top six spot until the end of the season. I just hope we go one better than last year!

WOULD FAILURE TO LEAD WEDNESDAY INTO THE PLAY-OFFS PUT CARVALHAL’S JOB UNDER THREAT?

I’m not sure. On one hand, yes, because it would take an almighty implosion for us not to finish in the top six from where we are now. But on the other hand, points wise it’s very tight and some good teams remain hot on our tails.

WHICH OWLS PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

You probably won’t like me saying this because he’s an ex Villa player, but Barry Bannan has been outstanding of late and has even played through the pain barrier with a foot injury to ensure he is available. And he was man of the match last time out against Wigan. His range of passing is superb and he is capable of assists and even a goal or two.

IF YOU COULD SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE OWLS SQUAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Craig Gardner without a doubt. He’s the one Birmingham player who you look at and see genuine Premier League quality.

BACK IN SEPTEMBER, A LATE HEADER FROM LUKAS JUTKIEWICZ WON BIRMINGHAM THE GAME AGAINST WEDNESDAY AFTER COMING FROM BEHIND. IS TONIGHT ABOUT REVENGE?

No, tonight is about three points, nothing else. I’m very confident.

WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

3-1 to the Owls.
