Rob Wildey speaks to Ross Gittins, a Preston North End fan, ahead of Blues’ trip to Deepdale.

WHAT’S YOUR OPINION OF SIMON GRAYSON?

He’s a handsome man, isn’t he?! In all seriousness, he’s doing a good job at Deepdale. When we first came up to the Championship, I thought it’d take four or five years before we were even competitive. To be fair to Grayson, 45 points and in the top half in February is more than we realistically expected.

WHAT WOULD REPRESENT A GOOD SEASON FOR PRESTON?

As we are now – that’d do nicely. Anything else would be a bonus, I highly doubt we’ll get into the play-offs now.

WHICH PRESTON PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

Aiden McGeady is a Premier League player. He’s inconsistent, granted, but the quality he has is obvious.

IF YOU COULD SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE PRESTON TEAM, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I see you’ve signed Kerim Frei, a player I rated highly when he was at Fulham. He has pace and ability to make things happen. I’m shocked he’s not starting games for you.

WHAT’S YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

After a nice home win on Saturday, I’m going to predict that we’ll make it a double. 2-0 Preston.
