In our new feature, Rob Wildey caught up with Oxford United supporter, Lewis Parry.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON MICHAEL APPLETON?

I must admit, during his first season in charge, I believed he should have been let go. We were very inconsistent and it was not enjoyable to watch. However, we finished the season very strongly and took this into the next season, resulting in promotion. Fair play to the chairman for sticking by him. Now I believe he has a great future in management ahead of him.

WHAT WOULD MARK A GOOD SEASON FOR OXFORD?

I would be very happy if we can finish mid table. However, a lot of media sources have tipped us for promotion, so I would love to at least make the play offs. It just depends how quickly the new members of the team can gel.

WHAT SHOULD BIRMINGHAM EXPECT FROM OXFORD?

We are usually very solid defensively, however, on Saturday we had a pre match injury to a centre back and then another was injured during the game resulting in a left back playing there.

HOW BIG A LOSS WAS KEMAR ROOFE?

A huge loss. He was playing way below the level he should have been last season. I think a lot of the fans knew that as well. We were lucky to have him for the 18 months that we did.

WHICH OXFORD PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

Your old boy, Wes Thomas. He opened his goal account on his debut. I would have said Chey Dunkley but he`s doubtful due to injury now. He wins headers all over and popped up with a few important goals last season.

IF YOU HAD TO SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE OXFORD SQUAD, WHO WOULD IT BE?

Probably Clayton Donaldson due to the fact that he will score goals if you give him a decent service.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO ST ANDREWS BEFORE? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IT?

No, never been and I can’t wait to tick another ground off of the list.

WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

Hopeful of an upset. 2-1 Oxford.
