Co-editor Rob Wildey speaks to Ipswich Town fan, Darren Wilson, ahead of the Tractor Boys’ visit to St. Andrews tomorrow evening.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON MICK MCCARTHY?

You can’t polish a turd. What I mean by that is if you’re going to sell the best players and not reinvest the money wisely, you can hardly blame the manager when it starts to go wrong. We all know what Mick is capable of, he’s proven at this level. I just feel that the current realms of the job are too much for any manager when weighed against the unrealistic expectations from the terraces.

IS RELEGATION A REAL DANGER FOR IPSWICH?

Honestly, yes. We’re currently five points above the dotted line and the neutral would assume our squad is just about good enough to survive. But I see no confidence on the pitch and I see a manager with no confidence in the club.

WHAT WOULD REPRESENT A GOOD SEASON FOR IPSWICH?

Survival. If we can stay in the Championship this season, the whole club needs to regroup and decide where they want to be.

WHICH IPSWICH PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

Luke Varney has found an inkling of form. He can be a thorn in the side of any defender on his day. Town fans must hope he can have more good days than bad.

IF YOU COULD SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE IPSWICH SQUAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

If Diego Fabbrini isn’t getting games, then I’d take him at Portman Road. We could do with a bit of creativity.

WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

We’ve only won six all season. If we can sit back and keep it tight, we could frustrate Birmingham. 1-1.
