Former Birmingham City loanee Kyle Lafferty has admitted to the press that the time has come for him to move on from his time at Norwich City following a torrid spell with the Canaries.

The Northern Ireland international has been speaking to the press following his country’s exit from Euro 2016, thanks to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wales, and after making two starts for his nation during the championship, Lafferty is now facing the facts that his future lies away from Carrow Road.

After scoring on his Blues debut, Lafferty couldn’t replicate that touch in any of his other five games that he played under Gary Rowett , but with the former Burton Albion boss in the market for a striker, could this news come as music to his ears?

The recently married striker told the press: ‘When I come back, I will probably be looking for a new club.

‘I haven’t really had any contact with Norwich over the summer but the fans have been absolutely brilliant with me.

‘They know I wanted to play for the club and I always gave 100% but it wasn’t to be.’

Although Alex Neil’s side have returned to the second tier of English football, the services of the 28-year-old striker look like they won’t be required and the news of his availability is sure to ring bells in many ears of championship managers, including Mr.Rowett’s.
