A few words from Luke Turner on where we currently stand…
I don’t think too many of us would’ve expected us to be in the situation we are in right now, currently in 7th position just three points off big spending Derby in sixth.
We have been there or there about for most of the season to date and so there is no doubting that we are definitely in the mix.
But with success, comes expectation. Since Rowett took over he has propelled us from 23rd up to the dizzy heights of 2nd, albeit that was only for a few days in mid-October.
As we reach the last couple of months of the season, it is important that we don’t increase our expectations even more.
It is good to have ambition and I certainly believe that we can make the play offs. We are no longer massively overachieving, I would say we are still overachieving a little bit but not massively.
The squad has proved that it has the ability, determination and team spirit to mix it up there with the big boys and big spenders of the Championship.
We don’t want the expectations of fans to get to the team. They need us to stick with them right until the end.
Blues will finish in a position that will reflect their season which, so far, has been exciting and we have already had plenty of wonderful moments.
So what I would say Blues fans is take every game as it comes, keep supporting and, of course, enjoy the ride.
