Birmingham City had an easy passage into round four of the FA Cup after beating Millwall 4-1 at the New Den on Saturday.

It looked like it was going to be one of those days for Millwall when Blues went ahead against the run of play when Matt Derbyshire lobbed the ball over the on rushing Millwall keeper David Forde with just over a quarter of an hour on the clock.

Ten minutes later and it was 2-0 when David Murphy brilliantly curled a free kick arould the wall from 20 yards out.

Derbyshire was then again on target for his second when he beat Forde again on the stroke of half time to make it 3-0 and City were cruising.

After the break the home side had a chance to pull a goal back, but Steve Morrison fluffed a penalty kick.

Cameron Jerome came off the bench to head home with his first touch to make it 4-0 before Millwall grabbed an injury time consolation goal through substitute Danny Schofield but the gulf in class between the two sides was evident.
