With reports that David Stockdale will be leaving the club this summer, there has been some talk among fans about whether we would miss him.
To prove his point, one fan on Twitter put together a video showing a number of mistakes that were made by our no.13 during his first season at the club.
Will not be gutted if Stockdale goes as he’s easily replaceable, I mean just watch these. #bcfc #lufc pic.twitter.com/d68KdjdgWS

Name me a player who hasn't had loads of mistakes this season? All of them have been poor until monk came in.

I reiterated may of times it’s not his fault he’s on 40,000 but the goals which have costed us aren’t granted that.

Verdict:
All keepers make high profile mistakes unless they are among the elite in the world. Their errors are always more costly than outfield players because they usually lead to goals.
We shouldn’t forget that Stockdale was named in the Championship’s Team of the Year just 13 months ago and there is no guarantee that if we do have to replace him, we’ll get an upgrade.
Saying all that though, there are financial considerations. Do his performances merit him being on £35k a week? For me, they don’t, and that seems to be the conclusion that Garry Monk has come to as well.
