Following our 2-1 win against Colchester David Dunn has said the team will improve.

Down to ten men after the sending off of substitute Cameron Jerome, with the game level, loan signing Nicklas Bendtner scored the winner to give Blues an opening day 3 points.

Spekaing to the press, Dunn has said Blues must improve and kill off opponents more convincingly as they aim to gain automatic promotion back to the Premiership.

‘Credit to Colchester, they kept the ball well when we went down to 10 men and made sure we worked hard.

‘There were a lot of nervous people around and we could have kept the ball a little bit better.

‘That’s the key. We’ve got a lot of good players in the side and could maybe keep it a bit better.

‘But it is always difficult in the first game of the season. We’ve got Sunderland on Wednesday and let’s hope we improve a little bit and then improve on every game.

‘The season is a long haul, 46 games. There is a long way to go but the most important thing for us is the three points to start with.

‘When we went down to ten, everyone pulled together and worked hard.

‘I had cramp in both hamstrings and tight calfs but it was another 90 minutes under my belt which is important.’
