Dundee have rejected Blues` £300,000 bid for Greg Stewart. Gary Rowett has been monitoring the 26 year-old for a number of weeks and the offer will come as no surprise to Dundee.

Dundee manager Paul Hartley yesterday claimed that Stewart would be ‘impossible to replace`. However, the former Cowdenbeath striker is out of contract next summer which means The Dee may cash in on him – rather than risk losing him on a free transfer – if Blues return with a higher offer, as is expected.

Blues had two bids rejected for Sheffield United`s Che Adams last week. That deal has now been put on the back burner while Rowett focuses on other targets with Stewart now being his main priority.

Rowett is desperate for attacking reinforcements and has been monitoring several targets. But with the financial parameters at St. Andrews still tight, bringing in the right player has proved to be a difficult task.
