Luciano Becchio kept Leeds in the FA Cup competition by scoring the goal that secured a replay against Birmingham following the 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Lee Clark would not like a replay with the injury problems that he has at the moment, although it’s pretty much the same story for the Yorkshire outfit.

It’s not as if the first run of this tie has left fans with anything much to look forward to in a replay, this was a dry affair which had it not been for the goals could easily have been forgotten about.

Even the atmosphere was pretty low key with the crowd being lower than the average for the season; dare I say that the FA Cup is fast losing its once magical pulling power?

The opening goal was a pretty spectacular one, Wade Elliott picked up the ball and ran at goal from the half way line, and he got to about 25 yards out and unleashed a screamer of a shot that fizzed into the top corner of the net giving Ashdown no chance.

Leeds sent on the horrible El-Hadji Diouf at half-time, but it was the ever alert Becchio who went through to slot the ball under Doyle for the equaliser after being released by Norris.

A nasty-looking injury to teenager Will Packwood held up play for a good five minutes, he unfortunately looks like spending some time out of action.

From then on neither side able to create the chance they needed to stop the need for a replay.
