Birmingham City are edging closer to the signing of Stewart Downing as Harry Redknapp looks to get his man, according to MirrorSport.
A deal for the 33-year-old looked to have stalled with Blues and Middlesbrough struggling to agree terms for the transfer.
Downing has been told by Boro that he can leave the club on a free transfer this summer following the arrival of Garry Monk.
A move to bring the former England international to St. Andrew’s would make the attacker Redknapp’s fourth signing of the window.
The Mirror also report that Redknapp still wants a left-back, two wingers (including Downing), two strikers (including Jordan Hugill) and potentially another centre back with Aston Villa’s Tommy Elphick a target.
