Birmingham manager Lee Clark has been watching Arbroath striker Steven Doris while on trial at St Andrews and the boss is impressed with what he has seen.

Doris has 11 goals to his name so far this season, scored in the Scottish second division including a goal against Celtic in the Scottish Cup that earned his side a 1-1 draw at Parkhead.

Now Clark is ready to go on to the next stage with the 24 year old and hopefully some sort of deal could be done.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Clark said: ‘We’ve been impressed by Steven.

‘In technical terms he has come down and shown us what he did against Celtic and he was very impressive that day.’
