French Ligue One side Dijon are reportedly hanging back on the sale of their top striker Lois Diony in the hope that a bid from an English club will come in.

According to footmercato.net, Dijon club president Olivier Delcourt assured that the club hadn’t yet received ‘no firm offer’ and that he was hopeful of an English club coming in with an offer for the 24-year-old.

Saint-Etienne still remain hopeful of securing the services of the striker but with the president willing to wait, could that mean that Harry Redknapp’s meetings last weekend with players and officials in France come through for the better for Birmingham City.

Blues were reported to have made a bid in the region of 10 million euros earlier this week but the reports haven’t yet been confirmed.
