Blues U21 side continued there disappointing early season form with a fourth loss of the season away at Saturdays first team opponents Bristol City. Richard Beale`s side came up against a very strong opposition, who of which were managed by former Blues midfielder Wade Elliot.

Blues started in similarly sloppy fashion as yet another disappointing first half performance proved costly. The home side started the brighter and had the better of the early chances. Eventually, the early pressure of the Bristol attack paid off as a low cross from Winger Ash Harper found Kieran Agard, he shrugged of the Blues defender and laid it back to Tom Fry. Fry coolly slotted past Blues goalkeeper Connall Trueman and gave Bristol the lead.

The due of Fry and Agard once again linked up as Fry lashed a fierce shot straight into the path of Agard, he made no mistake in slotting past Connall Trueman. Bristol went into the second half with a very comfortable 2-0 lead.

Like most games this season, Blues fought back with another impressive second half performance as they remained competitive throughout and substitute David Popa deservedly gave the side a life as the U18 Striker as he fired past the home sides keeper from eighteen yards out.

Unfortunately, Richard Beale`s side couldn`t get themselves the elusive equaliser as some slack defending let Bristol`s Bishop enhance the lead just minutes later. Blues continued to push hard and Wes McDonald continued his impressive goal scoring form with his third of the season.

Blues could have grabbed the equaliser late on as Noa Baba poked over from six yards out but it was a little too late for Blues to earn themselves a point.

Richard Beale`s side are now without a win this season and will look to break that duck with a home match against Ipswich Town. The match will take place at the Wast Hills training ground and is free entry for all supporters.
