David Stockdale, Jonathan Grounds, Greg Stewart and Nicolai Brock-Madsen were named in the starting line up for a behind closed doors friendly match against Las Palmas today.
All four players seem destined to leave St Andrews, but with the ongoing problems surrounding transfers, they may use the opportunity to persuade Garry Monk that they are deserving of another chance.
Fans on Twitter believe that at least some of them are deserving of being reintegrated into the squad:
Grounds deserves better

Nice to see Stockdale, Grounds, Stewart and Brock-Madsen getting starts. First 2 I rate very highly. Last 2 still deserve a chance. Follow Dundee in Scotland and Stewart was awesome for them. #COYB

Brock madsen had his chance under rowett. He wasn't good enough and still isn't good enough. And for an apparent target man he never won any headers

Because we are saving our best players to play against Brighton tomorrow?

Verdict:
As the first-team will be playing Brighton tomorrow, it’s a sure sign that these four haven’t made their way back into Monk’s thoughts, even with the lack of options in the squad.
The futures of Stockdale and Grounds could remain unresolved with no interest being reported in the pair. There is likely to be some movement with Stewart and Brock-Madsen, however, with the Scottish Sun reporting that St Mirren could be looking at signing both players on loan.
Who would you like to see stay out of the four? Let me know in the poll:
