Deadline Day Striker To Complete Karanka Jigsaw

|

With transfer deadline day looming this Thursday for Birmingham City, supporters will be hoping for a striker signing. Maybe two but certainly one.

Bluenoses I have spoken to are generally pleased with Karanka’s additions but the overwhelming need is for a proper goalscorer and the cessation of more midfielders. We simply have them coming out of our ears.

Security and a safety first approach is good up to a point and in Karanka I feel we have it, but this year’s Championship is up for grabs and goals from regular proper strikers will be the only answer. We are not talking quantities of goals but goals that win matches. Defensive strength combined to taking the vital chance is the prize of regular three points.

Simple but you need a striker to deliver. At present in my opinion we haven’t such a player. We hear that new signing Leko may play down the middle with his pace-perhaps taking the current slot off Juke.

Maybe with the prolonged absence of a natural goalscorer this might work but it just doesn’t feel too convincing. Hogan is an oddity at the moment with not much to say except that initially he did the business at a difficult time and secured wins for us. Since soccer restarted we all know his limitations now.

My feeling is that come Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday we will have a genuine striker to call upon, based on the fact that Karanka has started from the very back with goalkeepers and slowly worked his way up through the midfield and finally into the area where opposing teams nets need bulging.

Faith in our Manager to get this jigsaw completed? Most certainly yes.

its blatently obvious unless we get a striker in that scores goals we will struggle even with all the good work AK has done in the transfer market. Juke hardly prolific and it seems Hogan maybe a bit hit n miss. Hopefully Leko will bring goals with him when hes fully fit but a 4th striker would be great so we have options if players get injured or suspended and would also give us other attacking options and maybe extra goals and put some pressure on the others to prove themselves

Feel certain a striker will be forthcoming before deadline. Still feel Kayden Jackson of Ipswich will be the one.

If we don’t recruit we will be mid-table at best. Karanka’s slogan should be “Goals win games”. Making it harder for the opposition to score will only give us a heap of boring draws. Maybe a blessing the fans are not at the games!!
