Deadline Day: Keita heads to Serie A on loan

Birmingham City defender Cheick Keita has joined Serie A side Bologna on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old only arrived at Blues in January, when former boss Gianfranco Zola signed him from Virtus Entella.

He has made just one appearance so far this season, when he came on as a substitute in the opening day defeat at Ipswich – he picked up an injury that day and hasn’t played since.

Bologna have the option to buy the player once his loan period is up.
