Birmingham City have today completed the signing of former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Jason Lowe.

The 26-year-old has signed a one-year deal with the club following his release from Rovers at the end of last season.

Following their relegation to League One in the 2016/17 season, Lowe was let go. Since then he has had a trial with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion but he was unsuccessful in earning a deal.

The news on Lowe’s arrival comes on the same day that Blues learnt that they have failed in their efforts to bring Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah to the club.

Sky Sports are now reporting that Blues have made a move for Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan.

Welcome to Blues, Jason.

  • Another signing, another name, another opportunity for a player to shine in front of the best supporters in the land.Recent posts of mine have been downbeat and that was frustration at lack of action in the transfer market. The manager has changed all of that with a flurry of additions,it’s reminiscent of the Barry Fry days, each day now we are reading about new additions, obviously that will stop today and Redknapp hopefully will have a team that can bring results.Sure out start has been bad,a tough month coming up however it’s exciting,it’s interesting and all these new players will keep us talking, who knows what could happen,I doubt now that we will struggle this season, the question has to be how high can we climb the table and from where we currently sit we will surely rise.Renewed hope has fallen on St Andrews.
