Birmingham City have rejected a £1m Deadline Day bid from Derby County for midfielder David Davis, according to Sky Sports.

The 26-year-old swept up the player of the season awards at the end of last campaign as he established himself as a crucial player for the side.

A move to Derby would see him link up with former manager Gary Rowett, but Vital Birmingham understands that Harry Redknapp is a big admirer of the player.

  • Gary Rowett,we all like him, should NEVER have been sacked and I would have loved him to have had the funds Zola was given for he did an incredible job on next to nothing.
Twice this transfer window he has tried to snatch our best players ( Adams now Davis ),thankfully Redknapp rates them as highly as Rowett does, can’t blame the man for trying his luck though, would welcome him back in the future as our manager.

  • Not convinced that Rowett can handle the bigger players yet. Did a fantastic job with minimal resources for us but not setting it on fire with Derby yet.
