Birmingham City have completed the signing of Brentford defender Maxime Colin on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old right-back becomes the third Bees player to move to St. Andrew`s in the last day following the arrivals of Harlee Dean and club-record signing Jota.

A former France U20 international, Colin began his career as a forward at French club Boulogne before moving onto Troyes and Anderlecht. A move to England with Brentford came about in August 2015, where he has spent the last two years.

Last season, Colin made 38 Championship appearances and scored four goals as Dean Smith`s side finished tenth.

Welcome to Blues, Maxime.

  • Welcome Maxime Colin ,a very big welcome to the pride of the Midlands. All three signings we have added from Brentford will push the quality levels we already have much higher.Sure the Jonta deal is the show stopper however that does not distract from the other two.Their owner enen commented to the effect that he could not hold back their players when a bigger club comes knocking. That’s high praise especially so when they did well last season and we really struggled. Now hopefully things will fall into place. Finally the manager has a real headache issue with team selection, that’s always a good thing. Our season starts here and Norwich will be very aware of how unpredictable we now can be,it will be hard for them to prepare for next weeks game as they will have no idea what team we will put out.
