David Davis was surprised to see himself as the goalscorer as Birmingham drew 1-1 with Charlton. Blues exerted a dominant performance away at the Valley after going a goal down to the home side.

We had a goal disallowed, we’ve looked back and its onside,

Now we can take momentum into the international break after two good away performances.

After what was starting to look like an aimless past few weeks, Blues may well have been going into the international break with a very different feel around the camp.

Thankfully the team have certainly lifted the place with a vital four point week.

We showed character to get our shape and get back in the game,

The lads dominated procession and we were always positive that we could get back in the game.

Birmingham produced solid performances in both halves, the stats reflect a controlled game in terms of who had the most opportunities and the most of the ball.

It was nice to capitalise on our first half performance, we had a spell when we were a bit shaky but pleased we showed some character

And, when asked about his goal, Davis revealed his surprise that he was able to put the ball in the net.

I haven’t scored in 3 years so it was nice I couldn’t believe it.

Davis has gone straight into the team since joining from Neighbors Wolverhampton Wanderers. Following some fitness issues, as a result of a limited pre season, Davis seems to have contributed well in royal blue so far.
