Lee Clark has explained why David Edgar may be deployed in central midfield this season, much like the position he played against Kidderminster.

The manager said that Edgar adds power to the middle of the pitch. Last season when Blues went two upfront the team was left too open, said Clark.

Blues are going to continue to look at the possibility of Edgar remaining in midfield, a position the manager feels he is used to. Clark explained that Edgar is versatile and played many of his minutes at Burnley in central midfield.

Edgar was promoted with Burnley last season, when he did play, he played in a holding midfield role. Edgar was deemed surplus to requirements once promotion was secured and allowed to leave on a free.
