David Davis has become the first name on the Blues team sheet lately. His dynamic and energetic performances have made him virtually undropable and it is that sort of player that Gianfranco Zola should be looking to hand extra responsibility to.

The problem is, Davis only has six months to run on his contract. WayCoolBlue says:

He is out of contract soon and he as not signed the new deal that as been offered him.

  • WayCoolBlue- I understand that he hasn’t been offered a new deal yet but Zola is keen to start talks.

  • Good player and I like him-but let’s not get carried away. We are supposedly trying to get into the Premier league and we need far better players than Davis. If we are not that serious, then it is a must that Davis stays and signs a new contract.

  • The improvement this season is remarkable and I see him as a key player now. He is versatile and can go wide playing a more holding role on the opposition but with his energy and strength he links up well with the front line. The passing is loads better now and I would sign him up for the next three years as even in the Premier league (dreaming now) he would be a good squad player.
