Daunting Task At Brighton For Blues

Blues face a daunting trip to the south coast on Saturday when they take on league leaders Brighton.

It’s really a game they could have done without following last week’s humiliation in front of the cameras at home to Barnsley.

The Seagulls have won their last five matches and are two points clear of Huddersfield in second.

Lee Clark’s team won’t pick its self for this one and the manager has a few major decisions to make with changes being needed, but illness and injuries have taken their toll on the squad.

Marlon King has sat out of training for the majority of this week suffering from a virus, also suffering is Hayden Mullins who was struck down on Wednesday evening with the same symptoms.

Stephen Carr (knee) and Paul Caddis (shoulder) are ruled out of defence for Blues while David Murphy (hamstring) and Pablo Ibanez (broken toe) are out for around a month.

Left-back Paul Robinson goes straight into the side after arriving on a short term deal, while at the heart of the defence will be Curtis
Davies and Steven Caldwell.

Will Packwood or Jonathan Spector will be right-back.
