Unless there is a late change, the referee in charge of Birmingham v Middlesbrough this weekend is Darren Bond.

The Lancashire based referee has only moved into the football league in the 2012/13 season and has only refereed two Championship games in his short career, this is the first time he has been in charge of a Birmingham City game.

His only Championship game this season came in August when he took charge of the Huddersfield v Bournemouth game, the Terriers won the match 5-1 and four players were shown the yellow card.

So far this season Bond has been in charge of 12 games, in that time he has shown 32 yellow cards and two red.

Bond`s assistants for this game will be John Busby and Paul Rees while the fourth official will be Paul Tierney.
