Luke Turner comments on Blues’ reported interest in Danny Graham…
With the season now at a close attentions will turn to the transfer window and the ins and outs at St Andrews.
The Birmingham Mail reported yesterday that Blues were rumoured to be interested in signing Sunderland striker Danny Graham.
He spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers and didn’t do too badly as he notched seven goals in 18 appearances.
It is no surprise to see us linked with someone like him as he has Premier League experience with Swansea, Hull and Sunderland and has scored goals at the top level.
His career lost its way a bit with various loan moves not really helping him move forward with his stay at Sunderland but he looked to have found some form last term.
I would welcome the addition of Graham to St Andrews as he is someone who, when given the chance, can get into the right positions and score goals.
We are seriously lacking a clinical finisher at present and bolstering our striking positions looks to be a priority for Gary Rowett this summer.
Someone like Graham can also help decrease a bit of the weight put on Clayton Donaldson`s shoulders as we do become quite reliant on him sometimes.
I am sure that more names will pop up over the summer months but by looking at players like Danny Graham, we are moving in the right direction.
