Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill is in talks with Birmingham hoping to extend the loan spell of Wade Elliott to the end of the season.

Elliott joined the Robins for 33 days at the end of January, since then he has made six appearances for the Ashton Gate outfit in which he has impressed Cotterill and the fans at Bristol.

35 year old Elliott has one game left of his loan spell, that comes against Gillingham this Saturday, then he is scheduled to return to St Andrews.

If Lee Clark agrees to Cotterill’s request, Elliott would be back down south for the Robin’s trip the Shrewsbury Town next weekend.

Cotterill told the Bristol Post: ‘I’ve been on the phone to Birmingham this week and we’re talking. We’re discussing the possibility of extending Wade’s loan and I would like to keep him here until the end of the season if Birmingham agree to it.’
