Birmingham City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this midweek’s action.

The performance by David Cotterill in the four two victory over Rotherham United in midweek at St Andrew’s Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Cotterill was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Birmingham continued their good form with a 4-2 win over Rotherham United, and Cotterill impressed with a classy display for the Blues. The Wales international crossed superbly for Lukas Jutkiewicz to head home, and capped off a fine performance with a precise penalty late on.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Cotterill for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
