With the return of Maikel Kieftenbeld and, potentially, David Davis, there is absolutely no reason for Steve Cotterill to pick Cheikh Ndoye tomorrow.

The Senegal international has flattered to deceive since signing from Angers in the summer.

He is slow, can’t pass, can’t tackle and commits cheap fouls. Frankly, he offers absolutely nothing.

With Kieftenbeld and Davis unavailable, you could suggest that Cotterill had no choice but to pick the big donkey.

But he could have opted to change the formation. Instead, he stuck with three central midfielders and, as a result, Ndoye was picked.

And despite his options being bolstered, Cotterill will pick him tomorrow leaving the rest of us gob smacked as to how Ndoye has managed to worm his way on to a £30k a week contract.

What was Harry Redknapp thinking??

  • I have some sympathy for Blues latest ‘whipping boy’ in spite of his limited ability. He has come over from another country, doesn’t speak English, and been dropped headfirst into a royal mess. In pre-season HR spoke of him as a protector of the creative midfielder we never got. So obviously he would have played him in a certain system with a specific role, which unfortunately had to be scrapped. Not being able to bring in any creative central midfielders was publicly frustrating for Redknapp. And not surprisingly when you look at the main weakness of our squad……..Fast forward to SC and his constant belief in playing Ndoye in a midfield forward position. On what planet would Ndoye ever be an attacking, creative support to the forwards? So I am going to stand alone on this one and cut the big man some slack. Do I think he would hold a regular place in a Blues team doing well? Probably not. However, I do think his chances of adapting well to English football and culture in a struggling team, with the inner turmoil of everything that’s happened/happening this season at our club, were stacked pretty high against him before getting the chance to kick a ball anyway. But the fans need a whipping boy; and he must be more careful where he leaves his wage receipts if his salary is publicly known???

  • I think Onazi was his first choice , and the prices frightened the board off, up front I think Gallagher and Vassell was about right up front .. all though acquah would have been good …but there again it’s no good wishing what might have been …its not all bad Jota should be used more often and if used with a partner to play back with will come good again as this is not the first time he has lost his way for a while …we have two stars coming back with kief and Davis and their good alround buccaneer style of play has been missed …i would like mags on the right and Jota crossing for Gallagher on the left …..with Davies poaching slightly more forward of kief and Gardner…draws are no good we have to go for it ..ease up on training at this stage when muscles are rock hard and put the effort in on match day …Get it in there blues we have more reds behind us than forest will ever have …..kro …
