Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has began talks with the club in view of him signing a new contract.

Negotiations are now at the early stages for the 51 year old who joined Blues towards the end of 2007.

‘They (Carson Yeung and vice-chairman Peter Pannu) gave me some initial figures. I will get my advisers to meet them and let them thrash it out,’ said McLeish, whose deal ends in the summer of 2011.
