Steve Bruce has said he was content with a point in our game against Colchester, but we need to get back on track quickly.

The 1-1 draw saw us drop out of the automatic promotion places, but with game still in hand as long as we return to winning ways we should have no trouble reaching our aim of bouncing back to the Premiership at the first time of asking.

Speaking after the match, Bruce said:

‘I was pleased with the way we played in the second half. It’s never easy to play at Layer Road but it was one-way traffic in the second half and they scored with one of their only shots of the day.

‘But Colchester are a decent team and Geraint (Williams) and Mick (Harford) deserve a big pat on the back for what they have done.’

The U’s manager, Williams was equally pleased with the point, saying:

‘We’ve had two tough home games but we’ve something out of this one with another point, it was hard work and Birmingham are a very very good side so we’re delighted with the draw.’
