Birmingham City have today announced their sixth signing of the January transfer window with Stourbridge defender Dan Scarr signing for an undisclosed fee.

The defender, described as a promising centre-half on the clubs website, joins Gianfranco Zola’s men on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Scarr caught the eye of many during Stourbridges’ recent FA Cup run where he scored against League Two side Wycombe Wanderers. Despite losing the game, Scarr earned himself a trial at both Blues and fellow Midlands side West Bromwich Albion, but the latter opted against signing him.

Blues have now addressed most problem areas in the team to date with just a striker to be added in our opinion.

Craig Gardner, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Emilio Nsue, Cheick Keita and Kerim Frei have also been added to the squad and now with Scarr joining the group, Zola is clearly taking the squad forward whilst looking at players for the future as well.

Blues fans, are you happy with the addition of Dan Scarr? Let us know in the comment section down below!
