V.A.R. Whether you like it or not, for the time being, it is here to stay.
Whilst it’s not available in the Championship at the moment, it certainly could have come in handy for City on Saturday. A Maxime Colin cross hit the hand of defender Ben Davies, only for the referee to award a corner instead. Speaking about the incident, Blues boss Pep Clotet said:
“There was a handball in the box, but the ref felt that it was normal to have a hand there and gave us a corner, like if it had touched a leg. Unfortunately for us, that’s how he saw it. We got a corner and my work then is to make sure that we do something with our corners. It’s difficult to say whether it should have been a penalty, he was very close”
Journalist Brian Dick asked on Twitter whether or not Blues fans would want to see it in the Championship any time soon. Maybe they had these views all along, or perhaps its use in the Premier League so far this season has swayed them otherwise, but it’s fair to say that the answer was a resounding ‘no’ from the supporters.
Don’t wanna see it in the prem let alone championship. The whole thing is a joke. Can’t implement something that slows a game down that much yet it’s not 100% right.

Just getting a championship official to do the basics correct would be a start . Introducing VAR to them will cause them a meltdown and make things worse

I’d rather stand barefoot on Lego!

If they did it how they did it in world cup where ref goes to have a look himself than maybe yes. If its anything like the way the Prem are doing it then absolutely no.

Absolutely not.

No just common sense. I think the linesman (never assistants to me) need to step up both of those decisions should have been seen by him. Wasnt as if they were marginal both clear cut

No Brain spoils the controversy and slows down the game and nothing to talk about after in the pub ????????

The standard of refereeing is that shocking in this division I don’t think they could work it out
