A young fan missed out on the club’s open training session yesterday after his mother was rushed to hospital.
Hearing about the news, Garry Monk replied personally to the tweet, and invited the kid to meet the players at the training ground instead:
Firstly, hope that mum is OK and please let little Mason know that he's invited to come and watch a session down at the training ground, meet the players and have some lunch with us. We'll be in touch to arrange everything.

Verdict:
The connection between the fans and the club is extremely important, and it’s clear that our current manager understands this completely.
To be successful, everyone has to be pulling in the same direction, the supporters, players, management staff and the owners, and this is a great gesture that will be remembered by the young supporter.
It helps promote a sense of unity. It’s easy for divisions to emerge among such a vast fanbase but I think every fan is firmly behind what Monk is attempting to accomplish at the moment.
