Lee Clark insists that his team are doing better than last season, already. He also said that he is determined to remain in charge at the club.

Lee Clark has insisted that the fans of Birmingham City understand the market he is operating in and that he will remain as the manager of the club in his view.

Birmingham have struggled to get enough points on the board this season after throwing away some winning positions. The Blues recently lost a two goal lead away at Norwich.

Clark has hinted that the lack of quality is to blame for the team being unable to maintain dominance through the full 90 minutes.

Clark said to BirminghamMail.co.uk ‘We have only played a handful of games this season but in those handful of games we have had far more dominant performances than we ever had last season, over the course of 46 games.’

It could be said that despite the lack of points and being fifth from bottom Birmingham have been better this season. The team seem to be able to get into games.

Last season it was quite often Blues gave away a few quick goals and then spent the game chasing a point. So maybe that fans are now questioning why the team can’t hold on to winning positions is actually a small but important step forward in progress.

Birmingham take on Fulham on Saturday, with Lee Clark in charge.
