Blues manager Lee Clark says that he would like to see his side show a little more ruthlessness in front of goal when they take on Bury at Gigg Lane tomorrow.

Blues suffered their first defeat of the pre-season schedule at the hands of Cheltenham Town on Saturday, the team had enough chances to have won the game, but they could not get the ball past a stubborn Scott Brown in the Robin’s goal.

Clark said to the Birmingham Mail: “We have to start nailing things down in terms of the tactics and technical side, and where we`re going to be come the start of the season.

“So from Monday – with Bury being the first game after – those are the type of things we will be looking at.

“The next few weeks, the games are for the lads to stake their claims to be in the starting eleven.”

On Saturday Clark also noted that the side looked a little slow at times and aims to sharpen things up ready for the new season.
