Birmingham manager Lee Clark is hopeful that he can resign Newcastle’s highly thought of Shane Ferguson on another loan spell next season.

Clark has made no secret of just how good he thinks that Ferguson is and in his four appearances so far for Blues, it must be said that he has hardly put a foot wrong.

The 21 year old joined Blues on an initial one month loan spell but that was extended until the end of the season as soon as Clark had the chance to do so.

Clark feels that Ferguson is one of the best young talents in the game and maybe a season at St Andrews next term would be beneficial to both parties.

‘Whether it’s possible, I don’t know,’ said Clark to the Press Association. ‘Shane is very highly rated by Newcastle and has just signed a long-term contract there. But it is definitely something to talk about between the two clubs.

‘From my point of view, Shane is a Premier League quality player. He has done very well already in the short space of time he has been here and I think he’s enjoyed himself, going out and getting regular competitive football.’
